AVCHD MTS Workflow with DaVinci Resolve (Lite) on Mac

Summary: Have you heard someone there claimed that the DaVinci Resolve Lite has the strong ability of the working almost everything in real time except for AVCHD MTS format. Something like ranging from QuickTime, ProRes, DNxHD, MXF files to AVI, JPEG2000, HQ and HQX in MOV, JPEG, TGA and BMP. Let's find the solutions here.

*************************************

How much do you know about the DaVinci Resolve Lite though you are a professional editor?

As an extremely powerful editor in the post production workflow, DaVinci Resolve is well known for its color correction ability as well as a great manager of your entire creative process. It is claimed that DaVinci Resolve works with a wide variety of file formats in real time including DPX, CIN, EXR, Tiff, QuickTime, ProRes, DNxHD and MXF files. While the DaVinci Resolve Lite is such a pain. May be we need a AVCHD MTS assistant to get more help.

Notes: AVCHD MTS is not available with many other programs such as FCP, Premiere Pro CC, iMovie, FCE, Aperture 3, Avid Media Composer, After Effects CC, Keynote,Kdenlive, Windows Movie Maker, Pinnacle Studio 17, Sony Vegas Movie Studio 13, Youtube/Vimeo, iTunes, VLC media player, QuickTime, Smart TV, WDTV, Galaxy Tab S.

Pavtube MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac (Windows version) - Make AVCHD MTS friendly with DaVinci Resolve Lite. Here we strongly recommend you the professional AVCHD assistant which can handle all the AVCHD files well with popular editing tools, including the DaVinci Resolve Lite. Join us to know how it works so well?

*************************************

Step 1. Load our source recordings

Open this program, when the main interface pops up in front of you, two buttons on the left corner can do us a big favor. 'Add video' and 'Add from folder'. The first one is aimed to load your video clips individually, while the second can load footage as the complete one.

Step 2.Choose the suitable output for DaVinci Resolve.

Now it is time to come to the output list. Don't worry you didn't find the item for DaVinci Resolve Lite, cause we know the best format is DNxHD MOV, so we suggest you to select the 'Avid Media Composer' -> 'DNxHD (*.mov)' as the best one. Just look the screen shot below.

Tips: For 3D movie conversion? Why not go to the '3D Video' to choose one as your favorite? For example, 3D MP4, 3D MKV, 3D MOV/AVI etc.

Step 3.(Optional) Advanced functional items? Move your steps to the 'Settings' interface, here we will find ourselves with such 'Trim','Crop', or 'Subtitles' etc. Or change to the 'advance mode', you can get more there.

*************************************

At the end of this paper, let me tell you how to start our conversion work. Just go back to the main interface, 'Convert' there is waiting for your clicking. After that, just enjoy your output files when editing in DaVinci Resolve Lite. Fortunately, here is a MTS Topic Page you can get more knowledge of MTS files. Thanks for reading!

Import Canon XF105/XF100 MXF files to iMovie on Mac

If you are a camcorder fan, you may know much about Canon XF series camcorders, they are excellent camcorders used by many professional photographers. It's great to use Canon XF105/XF100 camcorder to record videos with vivid image. Then after editing MXF recordings in Premiere Pro, FCP, or iMovie, etc, we can enjoy the movies with a nice effect, right?

*************************************

Canon XF105 professional Camcorder is a compact, lightweight and fully functional camcorder that can be tailored to fit a wide range of individual needs. And Canon's XF100 HD Professional Camcorder is an amazingly compact, fully featured pro video camera that imports nearly all the features and functionality of the 3-chip XF300 into a smaller, single sensor form factor.

Taking advantage of the latest HD technology–along with Canon's robust MPEG-2 4:2:2 codec–The XF105/XF100 utilizes Canon's XF Codec-a file-based MPEG-2 compression with an MXF File Wrapper that ensures the widest compatibility with existing industry infrastructure, metadata and non-linear editing (NLE) systems.

Many Canon users will find importing issues when putting MXF recordings into iMovie. The reason is that iMovie can't handle Canon MXF files smoothly. Now here is a solution, of course, to help you transfer MXF footage to imovie. The next few steps will show you how to do with Canon MXF shootings (taken with Canon XF105 or XF100) before importing the Canon XF MXF footage to iMovie on Mac OS X.

Before processing, you're suggested to

1. Transfer mxf clips from Canon XF 105/XF100 camcorderto Mac computer.

2. Download and Install Pavtube Pavtube MXF Converter for Mac. The best Mac MXF to iMovie Converter can transcode Canon XF105/XF100 MXF files to iMovie friendly AIC MOV for smooth editing on Mac (Yosemite included). (Read also Best MXF Converter for Mac Review)
