Weatherscan XL V1 Emulator (DOWNLOAD HERE!) [DEAD]

Hi, now I know this forum hasn't been active lately but this is the one project that is a total go! The Weatherscan XL v1 emulator!

To install this program you will need a product key. To obtain a key, please send me a PM and I will deliver it to you as soon as possible. **NOTE: You MUST be registered with the site in order to receive your key!**

Fixed a lot of bugs, and added radar along with other data.

NOTE: To obtain some data you must now enter the airport code for your area. http://weatherdaddy.us can give you the airport code if you enter in your zip code. (It should be a 4-letter code that starts with 'K')

Stay tuned for the next release, as it will be the best and closest to the real thing as possible!

Thanks, sorry for the lack of response from your 0.5 beta. New mobo and Windows 7 are not getting along =\ Going through the ASUS forums and at least i'm not the only one having issues with the board and Windows 7. Long story short for the time being i'm temporarily back on XP 32bit SP3 and downloading your latest beta now.

Okay some updates on the project. (NO it's not DEAD! )

For the next version I think you all will be very satisfied.

Right now, unlike the previous version, all data that was in weatherscan has been added. Fonts are being corrected as I will be very precise for this next release. Transitions, a much better GUI, and more cool things!

And I don't want to get you guys hopes up too high but there is a POSSIBILITY that animated icons may be in the next release as well. That is still very much on the fence though, as when I tried to add them in, the program got very slow and choppy. May be a workaround but not sure yet.


One thing I will say as I have time and time again, is that I would like to have many more emulator projects here (In fact after this project, I would like to try and tackle a STAR XL program) but I really cannot do it alone.

If you have not noticed, I am a one-man show in this project. Like most successful projects (think the 4000 emulator) they did not become successful all alone. Lack of help or caring leads to dead projects and forums. I am not asking for a whole lot of help, but anything you could contribute to make current and future projects successful would be appreciated.

Ok i have a quick question when i load the emulator it works fine but the local weather info for ex. the 36 hour forecast does not get any info how do i get this to work?

well it needed to work twelka3 is like a glitch the the icon changing lik th clouds or the sun but the extended forecast is way on out of order for the icons so do not worry about it eh but is fine as long as it works we all will work it think you

If there is data missing then it is most likely an issue with the server. If this last more than a couple days though let me know.

i pretty much like the weatherscan but i wish i had the weatherstar 4000 v3 and i am trying to be sorry to them but nothing works i whs i can do sothing about nothing

Well unfortunately there isn't anything I can do about that. I am not affiliated or in charge of what they do.

Question for ya. How does your emulator handle multiple warnings/advisories? I've been testing it with areas under warnings at the moment and it was curious if it will just display the first warning or most current/urgent or both? At the moment I have an area loaded under Winter Storm Warning and High Wind Warning and only Winter Storm is displaying and no XL beep, or is the beep only initialized when the warning is first displayed? for example if I had the emulator running pre winter storm warning and then it was issued and the emulator updated with it? As I said before this is quite impressive emulator you have written and believe you mentioned on bill's ws4000 forum that it is just you doing this, impressive and excellent work. The only thing I have yet to get displayed is the radar for my area. Detroit, Michigan Radar site. Could you provide the correct URL to use? I can't seem to find any on Weather.com that use the URL format specified, it would be greatly appreciated. Regards.
