Panasonic AG-HMC40 AVCCAM HD Camcorder & AG-MYA30G XLR Mic Adapter / Holder is a kit including an AG-HMC40 Camcorder and a dual input XLR Microphone Adapter and Holder that mounts right under the tip of the camcorder's detachable handle (as shown in the photo above). The HMC40 is designed to record in high definition on standard SD and SDHC memory cards. The camera is extremely portable and lightweight, weighing in at just over 2 lbs. While SD-based camcorders have been gaining ground in the consumer market, the HMC40 has the ability to record AVCHD images at significantly higher bitrates. This enhancement makes the camera's codec more efficient than comparable HD interframe codecs, such as HDV and XDCAM EX. Using H.264 as its compression algorithm, the camera can record incredibly detailed images at a fraction of the file size.

Final Cut Pro 7 is new released with powerful new features like expanded ProRes codecs, improved speed/XML interchange/media management, etc and some time-saving improvements like automatic transfer, easy export, and so on. Although this new released FCP 7 supports AVCHD with at 1080p 24/25/30, 1080i 50/60, 720p 24/25/30/50/60, the Panasonic AG-HMC40 1080/24p AVCHD MTS is incompatible with Mac FCP 7!

So if you want to edit Panasonic AG-HMC40 1080 24p in Final Cut Pro 7, you are recommended to use UFUSoft AVCHD Converter for Mac, which is the superior Mac Panasonic AG-HMC40 MTS to FCP 7 converter for Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.7 Lion, 10.6 Snow Leopard.
